12. April 2001 - Pathfields Group contact Persimmons plc to initiate urgent discussions

Persimmon notice boardThe Pathfields Group has written to the Chief Executive of Persimmons plc at their headquarters in York to initiate discussions.  Before Persimmons took over Beazer Homes, the Pathfields Group and Beazers had begun to build a positive dialogue on a number of important site issues.  We want that dialogue to continue with Persimmons who state in their publicity that they place the environment and the community high on their list of priorities (http://www.persimmon.plc.uk/ )

In the letter to Persimmons Chief Executive John White, the Pathfields Group have stressed the importance of maintaining close links with the developers to produce the best outcome for the site.  There remains concerns over pedestrian and traffic safety on Dark Street Lane, the proposal to demolish part of the protected bridge, landscaping, tree preservation and improvements to concrete culverting work on the site.  Further issues on street lighting, access, flooding and planting were being actively discussed with Beazer Homes before they were taken over and the Pathfields Group are keen not to let these issues be overlooked.

The Pathfields Group has asked John White to help initiate local contact with the new company and the Pathfields Group as soon as possible.
