Plympton Pathfields, The TIME TEAM visit

During Easter 1998, the award winning Channel 4 programme the 'TIME TEAM' with presenter Tony Robinson, descended on Plympton St. Maurice to explore our past. In just three days, the TIME TEAM helped re-write the history of Plympton St. Maurice. The programme was broadcast in January 1999.

They discovered a fascinating history of the town with rich merchants, manor houses, and a bloody past associated with the castle. They also found that the Pathfields was once a Tudor park, landscaped and planted, with carp lakes. The Pathfields Preservation Group now want to reinstate the splendour of the park. Visit our special TIME TEAM at Plympton web site to see the experts working with local people to discover the unique heritage of Plympton St. Maurice and the Pathfields.
